Throughout the 1960s and 1970s Children watching the BBC were treated weekly to a fine dose of art, jazz, chaos and creativity called Vision On. T
his unique TV lodged itself firmly in the minds of many viewers, thanks to legendary sequences such as The Gallery, The Burbles, Digger and of course the main stars - Tony Hart, Pat Keysell, the Prof, sometimes Wilf Lunn and even Sylvester McCoy. The series is visually and musically like no other and stirred many a young creative mind into action.
For this special show, musical maverick and broadcaster Jonny Trunk explains some of the unusual musical cues and extraordinary ideas used by the show, and we'll be treated to some very rare and very beautiful Vision On sequences which in some cases have not been seen for over 40 years.
As a special part of this show, we are now taking entries for the Latitude Gallery, which will be judged. Email VisionOn@latitudefestival.co.uk with your image as a jpeg [min resolution 300dpi.] A prize will be given for the best one.
